How To Get There.

Matapouri Bay is approx 30km from Whangarei City, and 180km from Auckland.

When traveling from the South of Whangarei, (Auckland visitors) continue on the Main Road North, (State Highway No.1), on the bypass route missing Whangarei City Centre. Turn right into Kensington Avenue, just before the Kensington Sports Centre on the top of the rise. (There is a sign to Tutukaka) Follow the sign posts for the Tutakaka Coast, straight through the first sets of traffic lights, at the second set of lights turn left.

After passing through the seaside resort of Ngunguru 24kms from Whangarei, proceed to Tutukaka (2.5 km) and then over the hill (5 km) to Matapouri Bay.
